About Krapanj
With only 200 inhabitants Krapanj is the smallest and most sparsely populated island in the Mediterranean covering an area of 0,36 km2 and is approximately 1,5 m above sea level. It is known for its tradition of harvesting and processing sponges. It is 300 m away from the village of Brodarica, its closest mainland.
Krapanj – Brodarica is the shortest ferry line in the world: only two minutes of transit separates turistic modernity and traditional island life. Ferry drives every hour and is connected with bus for Šibenik, only 5 km away from Brodarica.
Šibenik is the oldest croatian town on Adriatic sea located in a most protected bay – the town is surrounded by four fortresses. Situated in the old town is the gothic-renaissance St. James cathedral, a masterpiece of Croatian and European architecture, which together with the old town is included on the Unesco World Heritage List. Two national parks are found in the Šibenik riviera area – Krka and Kornati.
National park Krka – The Krka river penetrates through deep canyons and creates numerous cascades and waterfalls. It is one of the most prized ecosystems in Europe by virtue of the wealth and specificity of endemic communities of flora and fauna.
National park Kornati – A family of over a hundred islands and crags has an inexpressible beauty – islands and the turquoise blue sea make Kornati the place of majesty.
